Wanganui Surf Lifeguard Service falls under the Taranaki region and provide a professional Lifesaving service at two separate beaches. Castlecliff and Kai-iwi Beach are situated 9km apart along the rugged West Coast of the North Island.

We provide a on call Search and Rescue (SAR) service to the Whanganui, Manawatu, and Taranaki areas Available 24/7, our SAR Squad has responded to events up and down our coast as well as up the Whanganui River.

We have also attended to events as far in land as Mangamahu on the Whangaehu River and Hunterville on the Rangitikei River. We work along side NZ Police, Coastguard, NZ National Dive Squad, Rescue Chopper and Land SAR.
